"I told you the truth, just not all of it"

The quote in the title from American contactee George Adamski can be found in Glenn Steckling´s recently published book The U.F.O. Reality – Can Truth Prevail? (p. 145) It is to a large extent an autobiography, narrating his involvement in the work of the George Adamski Foundation (GAF).  Glenn´s many experiences with alien visitors and assertions about their activities on our planet are of course controversial and will surely be questioned and criticized. This is not an ordinary UFO book.

As George Adamski and contactees in general is such a controversial subject I find it relevant and honest to present a basic position statement regarding this entire subject. Glenn Steckling is a good friend of mine and we have been corresponding for many years. Although we differ on several issues he is aware of my view that George Adamski really was in contact with alien visitors from – somewhere. Although I consider several of his experiences and claims should be taken with a grain of salt.

This taboo view of Adamski of course makes me something of an heretic among heretics in the ufo research community. But 50+ years of field investigation, study and research into the ufo phenomenon and especially the contactee enigma has resulted in the following conclusion:

Based on both empirical evidence and Esotericism as a paradigm I have advanced the theory that some of the first generation UFO contactees of the 1950s were involved in a cultural and psychological test. An experiment implemented by a group of highly advanced, benevolent aliens, earth based or extraterrestrial. A group with access to “vimana” technology. Involved in this experiment were a.o. George Adamski, Orfeo Angelucci, Paul Vest, Rosemary Decker, Millen Cooke, George and Dorris Van Tassel, Daniel Fry and Howard Menger.   

The 335 page The U.F.O. Reality – Can Truth Prevail is divided into two sections: 1 Our Journey, which is the family history of Glenn och his parents, Fred and Ingrid Steckling, and their involvement with George Adamski and the Foundation. 2 A Reality Check, consisting of part ufo history and Glenn´s critical examination of the ufo movement and its mistakes, based on personal experiences and information provided by various visitors.

Section 1 is a very valuable contribution to ufo history as a documentation of the Adamski movement from the perspective of Glenn Steckling and his family. From their first ufo observations in Germany and the United States to meeting George Adamski in 1963. An experience that would change the life of the Steckling family for ever and eventually leading to Fred Steckling becoming the Director of the George Adamski Foundation. A responsibility, since 1992, resting on the shoulders of Glenn Steckling, resulting in numerous speaking engagements at conferences and meetings all around the globe.

According to Glenn the visitors were in regular contact with the Steckling family: ”These space visitors would visit us after GA´s death and, over the years, assist us with many things… Such visitors have a program, very much like our U.S. Peace Corps, where they are incorporated into our society for two years or less…”. (p. 35) The visitors sometimes attended the Steckling lectures as in 1981 in Germany when the visitor named Orthon was sitting in the front row wearing a light blue suit. ”I did not participate in that trip but was to make acquaintances with seven other extraterrestrials while with my father at the 1989 Frankfurt UFO conference.” (p. 81)

In his last book (2013), Earth An Alien Enterprise, British author Timothy Good devote an entire chapter to the rumor that President Eisenhower had a meeting with extraterrestrials in 1954 or 1955. A rumor that has generated an enormous amount of strange tales. Acoording to Glenn Steckling this is what actually happened: ”What was discussed was a compromise that our government would release the true space visitor information to the public. In return, we would receive technological advancements, a significant advantage, and progression to our civilization. Our government declined.” (p. 31)

Section 2 – A Reality Check, includes, besides a ufo sighting history, some very pertinent comments on and criticism of the ufo community. In respective chapters believers in Chemtrails and that we never went to the Moon receive a severe bashing. Neither is Glenn an advocate of Disclosure, which has made ufologists worldwide running after the dangling carrots offered by various government agents and former ”insiders”: ”… Disclosure will never willingly happen via public pressures”. (p. 265) Here I fully agree will Glenn. Investigators are spending large amounts of time, money and energy on this charade. A very effective method getting the ufo research community sidetracked by barking up the wrong tree. The Real Disclosure will come from the people.

Much of Section 2 is information on what Glenn has named ”The divergent misinformation program”, initiated by the CIA and other intelligence organisations around 1961. Here we find much of the abduction stories, implemented by using advanced mind- och memory-altering methods. By using this fear and terror agenda and getting the people to believe that abductions are caused by evil alien visitors the real and  benevolent visitors program was effectively shattered. It was what George Adamski called a ”foolproof plan”. (p. 269)

This MILABS (Military Abductions) theory, with minor variations, is getting more and more acceptance among serious ufo investigators, a.o. Nick Redfern and Tanner Boyle. The theory was studied and documented by Dr. Helmut Lammer and Marion Lammer in their book MILABS: Military Mind Control and Alien Abduction (1999). Based on several years of research Lammer concluded that some abduction cases could actually be secret experiments by various military intelligence agencies. In April 2011 I wrote to Dr. Lammer asking for more data on his research. He very kindly told me he had abandoned all research on abductions and mind control and his entire archive had been thrown way!

This question becomes even more relevant when studying the abduction experiences of Alison, a woman living on a ranch not far from Sedona, Arizona. The case was documented by Nick Redfern in his 2006 book On the Trail of the Saucer Spies. (pp. 115-117) Alison´s abductions always start with a humming sound, loss of electricity in the house and her dogs becoming very distressed. Bright lights envelope the room and in a semiconscious state she is aware of small creatures carrying her to a small craft outside the house where she is examined and then led back to the house. On her fifth abduction something extraordinary happens. The humming sound stops abruptly and Alison slowly regain her normal senses. The small gray aliens fade away and instead she find a group of large and burly men in black fatigues in her room. According to Alison one of the men screamed "what happened" in a microphone. Another man utters the word "sorry" in her direction and the men leave in, not an alien spacecraft, but an unmarked black helicopter. Did their psychotronic equipment fail this time?

It would of course be an easy way out to blame all abductions on covert (black) projects and intelligence groups. With no bad intentions Glenn Steckling is actually opening a Pandora´s Box on this issue, when he in several chapters and interviews is stating that there are also non-benevolent visitors using unsuspecting victims: ”In fairness, opposing forces of not-so-benevolent societies and ”races” (NOT species) also visit and exist beyond our planet.” (p. 49) When Anders Liljegren and I in September 2015, had dinner with former CIA operative Jim Semivan and his wife Deborah Stokes, Jim told us that he and his wife had been the victims of a very traumatic abduction-like experience. He also mentioned that several of his colleagues in the CIA had encountered the Men-in-Black. If abductions is only used by intelligence groups why harass CIA personnel?

If we also have non-benevolent visitors to cope with and covert intelligence groups have reached the same conclusion, it would certainly be a good reason for non-disclosure. Imagine the widespread paranoia and fear such a disclosure from any government would create. Unfortunately my own investigations of contactees have actually confirmed Glenn´s claim. The experiences of Swedish contactees Jade Ekström and RichardHöglund definitely involved non-benevolent visitors. Especially is this evident in the Höglund case, where the visitors acted more like a global crime syndicate than interplanetary Peace Corps. Richard became deeply afraid of the visitors he worked with for several years. Perhaps it was the activities of these intruders American contactee Howard Menger was briefed about as a warning by his visitor friends. He was told they were very dangerous and used ”advanced brain therapy”. (From Outer Space To You, pp. 143-144)

Finally Glenn reveal one assertion from his visitors, which, if correct, certainly would create widespread appehension among the public. Because of ”solar systemic changes” and the ”solar system´s decelerating cycle” we can expect large catastrophes on Earth. Therefore ”inhabitants of our neighboring planets” have to a large extent been evacuated to the solar system of Alpha Centauri. Two hundred thousand willing earth volunteers have also been transported to this new solar system. (p. 87) A scenario that must be regarded as a rather dystopian vision for our planet and culture. Let´s hope this ”prophecy” fails.

For obvious reasons there is not much new information on the life of George Adamski in this volume, as it is an autobiography. But on page 32 Glenn mention a most welcome project. After this book he is planning an ”accurate and thorough” biography of the life and history of George Adamski, based on documents from the extensive GAF archive. That is certainly worth waiting for.

The ufo enigma is like Chinese boxes. The majority of scientifically oriented ufologists in the ufo research community only open box one and two. Glenn Steckling´s very fascinating book is an intellectual challenge to all ufo researchers to dare open box three and four. 

The Real Visitors

The usual and popular media image of an alien visitor is a small, spindly creature with large black eyes, often referred to as the Greys. Ask anyone to draw a picture of an entity associated with ufos or search for alien images on the internet and you will come up with more or less ugly creatures of the Whitley Strieber variety. But are these entities the real visitors? Have both the public and mainstream ufologists been mislead in assuming the Greys and similar entities to be actual and intelligent visitors? Today there appears to be a re-evaluation of the human looking aliens as the real visitors. A theory or idea shared by both critical UFO investigators and contactees. ”The Strange ”Greys” of Ufology: Are They Manufactured?” is the title of Nick Redfern´s article in Mysterious Universe, May 22, 2020. If Redfern checked some of the old contactee stories he would find that robots were described already in the 1950s.

I often return to the 1975 classic The Edge of Reality by the two giants of ufology, Allen Hynek and Jacques Vallee. The discussions and brain storming in this book are intellectually stimulating and often remarkably radical and open minded. On page 252 Hynek and Vallee try to develop a theory for the many humanoid cases involving different types of entities:

Vallee: ”How come there are men, ordinary men with them? There are cases in France where witnesses have seen two dwarves coming out of a landed object, and one man with them."
Hynek: ”… if these reported cretures are really robots, that would solve this problem."

Humanoid and contact cases involving human looking aliens interacting with small entities have been reported for a long time and from many countries. An interesting fact is that human aliens working together with small robots was mentioned already in 1955 by George Adamski. Here are a few relevant quotes:
 "Also in this room was a robot instrument which I was cautioned not to describe. I had noticed a miniature version of this robot in the Scout." (Inside the Space Ships, 1955, p. 60).
"Each pilot room has a robot. these, working singly or together, can fully govern the course of the ship, as well as warn us of any approaching danger." (Ibid. p. 77).
"True, they have robots to do much of the heavy work that once was done by manual labour." (Flying Saucers Farewell, 1961, p. 85)

A fascinating case where bio-androids are mentioned is the abduction experience of Amauri Rivera of Puerto Rico. He was abducted from his car by dwarfish entities in May 1988. When he regained consciousness Amauri found himself in an unknown room together with 15 people, all Hispano-Americans. Magdalena Del Amo-Freixedo documented what happened next in an article published in Flying Saucer Review, vol. 39, no. 1, Spring 1994: "Facing them was a tall, dark man of human appearance. His hair was long, down to the shoulders, and his complexion dusky. He would, says the witness, have passed anywhere unnoticed. This man said that he was human, just like them, who had come here from another planet in our galaxy. On either side of him there was a dwarf, similar to those we have already described. Almost all of those present in the chamber gazed with horror at the two creatures... He (the man) seized hold of its (dwarf) face with one hand and turned it to right and left, at the same time saying that they should have no fear of these entities, as they were biological robots created by them for certain kinds of work, and that they were quite inoffensive."

Cases like these are often disregarded a priori by scientifically oriented  ufologists but I think it is time to reconsider many of the old contactees of the 1950s and 60s and follow an alternative approach in research, looking for confirmation of the contact from independent witnesses and various types of circumstancial evidence. Many years ago I asked psychiatrist Dr. Berthold E. Schwarz about this problem regarding his investigations of Howard Menger. Schwarz told of the many witnesses who really did experience strange phenomena, including aliens at the Menger farm. In a letter to me May 29, 1986, Schwarz concludes: "Yes, the contact claims or case of Howard Menger is far from being an open and shut or black and white matter." This could be said regarding many of the both classic and recent contact experiences.

After 50+ years of research into the ufo contactee enigma my conclusion is that the real Visitors are human looking entities, who for their more or less covert work use robots and androids. Unfortunately there has since the 1950s been a stigma against any serious research involving human looking Visitors.

Here is one example of the type of contact cases, whether genuine or not, that should be investigated and documented by ufologists:

Joelle was born in St Petersburg, Russia in 1914. After the war she worked in Paris and later moved together with her husband and two daughters, Frederique and Isabelle, to London. In September 1963 Joelle was in the Sheffield area conducting a house-to-house field survey for a market research company. In one of the houses Joelle visited she noticed an unusually large amount of modern-looking gadgets, including a large radio transceiver. The lady in the house, Rosamund,  explained that her husband was a scientist and radio amateur. When Rosamund briefly left the room Joelle heard a message in English from the radio: ”Will be at Blue John tomorrow 4.30 p.m. – Mark”. She wrote down the message but when Rosamund came back she was only informed that message had come through. This obviously chocked Rosamund. Because of her background in the French resistance during the war Joelle suspected she had uncovered an international spy-ring and decided to go to the Blue John caves at the time mentioned.

On Monday September 16, 1963 she went by car to the this area and parked at a vantage spot overlooking the valley – and waited. At 4.30 p.m. Joelle noticed a brilliant light in the sky which came to rest several hundred yards from her position. The glow ceased and a disc-shaped aircraft appeared instead, landing on tripod landing legs. A man in a one-piece suit stepped out of the craft and simultaneously a man appeared coming from a car parked nearby. Joelle recognized the car as the one that had been parked outside Rosamund´s house. The two men greeted each other warmly and walked towards the car which drove away. The craft began to glow, lift off from the ground shooting off at a fantastic speed.

At that time Joelle did not accept the existence of flying saucers and believed the craft to be some sort of secret Russian aircraft. She decided to go back to Rosamund´s house to find out more and then perhaps report the incident to the police. When she knocked at the door the scientist husband, in the story named Jack, opened the door but was reluctant to let Joelle in. At that point Mark, now in terrestrial clothes, interjected ”that´s all right, let her in”. Joelle tried to present a cover story that she needed some more answers for her field survey. Mark understood that this was a lie and said: ”Why don´t you tell us the real reason why you are here?...You came here because you saw my craft and wanted to find out what was going on”.

Joelle was ”let in” on the truth and spent a large part of the night talking with the visitor. She gradually accepted that Mark was indeed a man from another planet. For the next fifteen months Joelle had several meetings with Mark and another visitor, Val. Two times they met in Joelle´s flat in London. These men claimed they were secretly working together with a team of scientists from several nations. At one occasion Joelle was invited to inspect one of their craft that had landed close to the Welsh border. She helped the visitors in a number of ways. Val and Mark were extremely refined, fair-skinned with perfect teeth, very kind and perfect gentlemen with lots of humour.

In 1967, three years after the last meeting with Mark and Val, Joelle claimed to have been visited by two men from the Home Office in London. They wanted to know about the disappearance of Jack and Rosamund and som other scientists. The men were aware of the contact story but Joelle refused to answer some of their questions. Neither did she tell all she knew to Timothy Good. One of the things mentioned by Mark and Val was that their group would intervene in the event of a nuclear catastrophe, if it threatened to destroy our planet. She was also informed that we are spiritual beings, surviving death. The experiences with Mark and Val remained a treasured and vivid memory for Joelle all her life.

Very early in my ufological career I became involved in several quite remarkable aliens among us cases in Sweden. Ever since then I have often pondered the $64 question – Who are these people. When John Keel visited me in October 1976 we especially discussed this enigma, involving also the MIB – Men In Black.  Keel was intrigued by this aspect and convinced there were aliens among us. “I´d really like to get one”, was his comment. If we as private UFO researchers can discover so much data on this hidden activity then special operations intelligence groups must have studied these alien visitors for  a long time and are keeping an eye on their activities. UFOs is not only a scientific problem but a counterintelligence problem.

Being one of the last pioneers alive, with inside knowledge of what really happened during the first years of the contactee era, silent contactee and MUFON consultant Rosemary Decker must have felt more and more like a stranger in a strange land in the UFO movement of the 1980s and 90s. She tried to express some of these thoughts in a letter 1995:

”Yes, I´ll do my best to take care – it´s true ´there aren´t many of us left´. And the early era of open friendly contacts has been so debunked, or at best ignored, by later researchers/encountered people, too much precious data has been lost. (Early era is among my 3 favourite presentations when I speak at a conference). Some of the early alledged contacts were real, thanks be. (And most never publicized).

Based upon my experiences of contactee research in Sweden I regard it as a definite possibility that there are real human looking alien Visitors operating behind the scenes on this planet. Few ufologists, not to mention the public, could take such a revelation without developing at least a mild form of paranoia. How about stamp-collecting?

The Real Disclosure

The international ufo movement and especially American ufology was in the 1980s heavily influenced and partly ruined by disinformation from various intelligence agencies. Bogus or very questionable documents were distributed to ufologists who often swallowed the bait resulting in endless debates and conflicts in the UFO community. Jacques Vallee understood very early that this was a trap and he gives many sad examples in his writings how even serious ufologists were sidetracked by this game, when they instead should have been doing classic field investigation: ”The real phenomena continue to manifest under our noses, and no special access to questionable government documents is required to pursue a serious study”
(Forbidden Science vol 2, p. 491).

Because of past experience we at AFU realized that qualified ufo research would never be initiated by the authorities or mainstream academic institutions. The only possible option was privately funded research. We realized almost from the start that petitioning the authorities to fund UFO research was a lost cause. And trying to force the government or the military intelligence community to ”Disclose” the ”Truth” was a mission impossible.

Beginning in the 1950s there has been constant rumors and hope that Disclosure is imminent and will once and for all solve the ufo enigma. Since a few decades, we have a very active international Disclosure movement of ufologists running after the dangling carrots offered by various government agents and former ”insiders”. Investigators are spending large amounts of time, money and energy on this charade. A very effective method getting the ufo research community sidetracked by barking up the wrong tree.

As a non-conformist theory or working hypothesis I would like to present a radically different  perpective on this issue, from an esoteric viewpoint. Let us call it - The Real Disclosure. Mainstream ufologists and academic scholars will probably regard this theory as a myth or fantasy and the skeptics will as usual refer to it as intellectual harakiri. I will let history decide.

In a brief summary The Real Disclosure is the slow but coming public knowledge that there is on our planet a very ancient secret society given various names: planetary hierarchy, planetary guardians, occult brotherhood, inner government, Higher Intelligence Agency (HIA), Masters, Mahatmas, Adepts etc. A form of behind-the-scenes United Nations of exceptional men and women, unfortunately endlessly travestied and misunderstood by a plethora of New Age-mystics, cults and religions. This organisation has, especially since the Second World War, worked in close co-operation with highly advanced Visitors from other planets in an effort to help our civilization in a critical point in our evolution and once again present The Ancient Wisdom, the science of the multiverse. In the 1950s the planetary guardians, together with the interplanetary Visitors, initiated a psychological and sociological test of how humanity would react to contact with other intelligences.

It was not until 1875, with the founding of the Theosophical Society, that the planetary guardians for the first time in modern history decided to reveal their existence and present fundamentals of the Science of the Multiverse. The basic and most obvious question asked by Henry Steel Olcott, first president of The Theosophical Society was – are these people real? To his very sceptical friend Mr. A.O. Hume he tried to explain his decision to join the movement in a letter September 30th,1881: "... I would never have taken anybody´s evidence to so astounding a claim as the existence of the Brothers, but required personal experience before I would head the new movement... I got that proof in due time".

 The cultural impact of this first step in”disclosure”, also referred to as the externalisation of the Hierarchy, was profound and today several scholars and academics have begun to realize that the Esoteric Tradition can be regarded as the third intellectual force or pillar in cultural history, alongside religion and science.

With the advent of the ”flying saucers” a new element was introduced in connection with The Real Disclosure. This connection was documented by authors such as Desmond Leslie, Meade Layne and Riley Crabb. It was further explained by ufo contactees such as Millen Cooke, Paul M. Vest, George Adamski, Daniel Fry and Howard Menger. 

A very good summary of this project was given by Connie Menger, wife of Howard Menger:
"Let us assume that there is on this planet a group of scientifically minded and spiritually dedicated men and women who are working to accomplish this great task. And, let us further assume that they have already established contacts with equally dedicated people of other planets. To continue their work and remain effective, they must of necessity remain behind the scenes. However, they can, in the interest of humanity in general, send out hints as to what will take place in the near future. Perhaps they send out scouts to make personal contacts for the specific reason of determining the reactions of every-day people. Perhaps it is done as a "smoke screen" to temporarily keep secret the real work which is going on until such time that the people are prepared to meet this new era with many changes it will bring...Then there are the personal contact stories, some of which are authentic, and which have been established for study purposes and for keeping alive a story which must eventually be brought before all people. If given in small doses, the general acceptance will be made over a period of time, and will take place almost naturally."

Esotericists and several of the early 1950s contactees mentioned behind-the-lines cooperation between the Planetary Guardians and extraterrestrials Visitors. For those students and investigators who wish to pursue this line of research here are some quotes of interest:

April 1935: "... the regenerative forces of Those extraplanetary Beings Who offer Their Help at this time."
(Alice Bailey, The Externalisation of the Hierarchy, p. 25).

April-May 1940: "Hovering today within the aura of our planet are certain great spiritual Forces and Entities, awaiting the opportunity to participate actively in the work of world redemption, re-adjustment and reconstruction.... the waiting extra-planetary Forces."

”There is a certain secret work going on at present between the Etherians and certain high earth authorities (You understand, I suppose, that I do not use the word ”high” in the usual sense. I am referring to those belonging to some of the secret Lodges on Earth). This work has to do with the great possibility of the Earth´s destruction… These men have landed in Australia in a secret landing field. They have not only been to Scotland, but to high authorities in England, and to a few of your men and women here of high standing (I refer to the secret Orders).”

"There are also spacecraft, though of inferior design, which are built by people of this planet. These people are in communication and in service with people from other planets. They are people who possess a high spiritual understanding and have reached an awareness of natural law; therefore they have been entrusted with information enabling them to construct such craft."

It will be intersting to follow whether some form of fake disclosure will be tried by the larger nations, especially USA. A disclosure to promote their own interests and the military, economic and religious power structures on this planet. The Real Disclosure will come from the people not from any government.

Glenn Steckling, present director of the George Adamski Foundation, told an intersting story of what happened to his father, Fred Steckling, during their work in Mexico in the late 1960s:

”George Adamski showed us on a map where there was an extraterrestrial landing facility in central Mexico, so we bought a property very close to that area. And we were three years down there during that time. And within a week of our showing up the Mexican military intelligence police there showed up and with two trucks full of troops and equipment. The commandant was very accommodating, very nice. He came and knocked on the door. My father welcomed everybody with open arms saying come on in, I got nothing to hide. And then they dispersed themselves over the many acres over the ranch and looked with metal rods and magnetometers and all kinds of things. So my father said to them you know this makes me very happy because obviously you wouldn´t be out there if you didn´t believe that it didn´t exist.

The commander pointed to one of George´s (Adamski-HB) pictures that was hanging on the wall and he says. We know they are here. We know they are good for us, but WE don´t want them. He went on to say we have seen an abbreviated file from the Pengaton concerning your activities. My father had seen it too, the size of the New York phone book.  They said to us, you are allowed to stay in this country as long as you don´t go among the population and hold lectures and try to educate the people because we do not want any changes to our system either economically or religiously.”

Our civilisation and planet is presently in a very critical condition. Whether humanity will survive is very much an open question. It is difficult to know how the groups behind The Real Disclosure view our predicament and what their plans are. They obviously knew in advance what was coming, as told to contactee Howard Menger in the 1950s:

"We have much work to do on your planet among your people, and we must do it quickly - while there still is a planet and a people to work with".
